Blanchard
Instrument: Cello Jessica
Blanchard grew up in Madison, WI and has been involved
in music her entire life. She received her bachelors
in Music Education in 2008 from the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point. While attending college,
Jessica was involved in many performing groups, conducted
a variety of ensembles, participated in Suzuki training
and taught in her own private studio for cello and
piano.
Jessica moved to Muscatine in August 2008 to start
her first teaching job. She teaches orchestra at West
and Central Middle Schools. Since she began teaching
in Muscatine, the orchestra program has more than
doubled. She continues to run her own private lesson
studio in Muscatine, currently teaching 12 musicians
ages 6 and up. Jessica also teaches applied cello
for Muscatine Community College and conducts the Handbell
Choir at Zion Lutheran Church. When Jessica isn’t
teaching or playing music she can usually be found
hanging out with her infamous dog, Frank, or traveling
to places near and far!
