The Muscatine Symphony Orchestra, a major cultural asset
of the community, is totally dependent on the generosity
of donors to supply the means for continuation and growth.
Even though funding is sought from various entities including
local industries and businesses and State of Iowa grants,
ticket sales and promotions are vital. Individual
support remains the critical element. Individual
contributions constitute approximately 25% of the total
funding needed to operate the MSO; The vast majority
of funding is required for compensation for our Music
Director, and the various supplemental players that are
needed throughout the concert season.
Muscatine and
the MSO are indeed most fortunate to have a person of
Brian’s skills and personality to lead the orchestra and
to serve as a resource for other performing arts organizations
in the community. Our being able to sponsor and
provide leadership for the Youth Symphony is, alone, a
priceless asset for aspiring musicians.
The
local players, numbering over 35, both practice and perform
and join you in financially supporting the orchestra.
Though the players are unpaid, they receive great value
in having the opportunity to develop their skills and
present the finest of symphonic music to you, the members
of the community. All contributions are appreciated
and those giving over $50 are recognized in the program
notes. Please join us in providing the financial means
to continue making the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra a
vital part of our community. Thank you!
